Everywhere Straw Tumbler: This Cup Has Saved Me So Much Money
One of my small joys in life is grabbing an iced beverage in the afternoon. I don’t have a singular drink; I’m all over the place. One day it’s an iced chai with vanilla cold foam and the next, it’s an iced latte. Hell, I even venture into iced tea with lemonade territory.
The thing is, it’s not really about what’s in the cup. It’s about the cup. I’m addicted to the feeling of shaking the ice in that plastic cup, shimmying around the contents. I can feel the satisfaction now, even as I type this.
This habit, while expensive, is also bad for the environment. (I know, groan.) So a while back, I starting searching for the perfect cup that would allow me to make a lil’ afternoon treat for myself at home. There are a million, billion, trillion goddamn cups out there. Surely one could mimic the vibe?
“Why not just get a Starbucks cup, dummy?”
Because I don’t want to be a walking advertisement for Starbucks, okay? I don’t have anything against them, I just don’t have anything for them, either.
No, what I needed was an unbranded, double-walled, clear plastic cup with a flexible straw. I read a ton of reviews for cups on Amazon, but I just wasn’t finding the perfect cup.
That’s when Miir’s Everywhere Straw Tumbler fell into my lap. She’s beautiful, you guys. Everything I wanted and more, this 20-oz tumbler is:
Lightweight (0.86 lbs)
Shatter-resistant
Cup holder-friendly
Not entirely spill-proof, but good enough
I toss some nugget ice and cold leftover coffee into this bad boy around 2 p.m. and we are in business. I’ve already saved so much money by using the Everywhere Cup instead of hitting the drive-thru; I can’t recommend it more.
One of the things I like best is that the straw is actually two parts: one above the lid, which is rubbery and bendable. The part below the surface is straight and when placed correctly, angles itself so you can get every last little bit of beverage.
I prefer the clear version because it’s the most evocative of a disposable cup, but it also comes in purple, blue, gray, and green. And in case you’re less of a heathen, you can get the 16-oz ($20) instead of the 20-oz ($22).
