The Ultimate Mother’s Day Guide For 2025: 20 Gifts For Any (and Every) Mom

I request two things for Mother’s Day each year:
Flowers, because they make the house feel happier.
The gift of sleeping in, because f*ck I love sleep so much.
That said, I have plenty of ideas for unique gifts for moms, grandmas, stepmoms, aunts, or whoever you’d like to celebrate on Mother’s Day. Gifts for dog moms? Got it. Presents for tired moms? (So, all moms.) Yup! New moms, matchy moms, moms with expensive taste — every mom is accounted for.
Ahead, you’ll find items from a handful of my favorite brands, some of which you’ve probably heard of (Smeg, Quince, Nailboo), and some of which may be new to you (Spoonful of Comfort, Beatriz Ball, Caraa). Take a look and let me know what you end up buying — and loving.
Donut Pet Bed, Lesure ($40)
I tested an adorable cat tree from Lesure for a story on the best cat trees, and I was really surprised by the quality of workmanship from this viral brand. They have a number of cute pet beds on Amazon, and this one is an ideal gift for the pet mom.
Hanna Andersson x BAGGU Poplin Pajama Set ($148)
Once again I am boasting on behalf of Hanna Andersson’s women’s pajamas. They are so soft and so cute that even if they didn’t have matching pairs for your kids(!) I would tell you to buy them.
Kitchen Caboodle Package, Spoonful of Comfort ($150)
Let me tell you what mom wants for Mother’s Day: dinner that she doesn’t have to make. If you live far from your mom or even if you live with your mom, a package from woman-owned brand Spoonful of Comfort will make her so happy. The Kitchen Caboodle Package comes with soup, rolls, cookies, and some sunshine-yellow kitchen accessories.
Midnight Cactus Candle, LAFCO ($75)
Whenever my mom visits, she takes me to the “fancy” grocery store to stock my fridge. (I’m pretty sure it’s because she doesn’t want my children to starve.) I usually manage to sneak in one extra item under the bread and cheese: a LAFCO candle. This one smells like raspberry, cactus, and cedar.
New Mom Postpartum Care Box, Hello Postpartum ($119)
If there’s a new or expecting mom in your life, take care of her with a box from Hello Postpartum. The brand was founded by a mother who experienced postpartum anxiety after the birth of her first child and the boxes are a beautiful (and much-needed) resource for moms during that all-important fourth trimester.
Lab Grown Diamond Pear Eternity Ring, Gorjana ($840)
Say it with me: You can’t go wrong with jewelry. I love Gorjana because while most of their gold pieces are affordable, they also have a fine jewelry section for special occasions. This dainty ring comes with a pear-shaped diamond, but there’s a circle version as well.
Large Metro Shoulder, MZ Wallace ($195)
MZ Wallace has been my go-to brand for everyday bags for years. Most of the bags are washable and they carry far more than you might think. They’re pricy enough that they feel like an indulgence, but affordable enough that you can splurge once (or twice) a year. This True Light Denim number is one of the latest hues. If the large looks too big, go for the Mini Metro Hobo ($165) instead.
Variety Pack of Face Masks, LOOPS ($30)
For the cool skincare mom who loves Glow Recipe and Youthforia, introduce LOOPS into her routine – just don’t be scared when she wears the slugging mask overnight.
Immersive Music Set, SONOS ($898)
One of my pet peeves as a Professional Writer of Gift Guides is that lists for women tend to have cozy items while guides for men are stacked with electronics. We like surround sound, too! This pair of speakers from SONOS will make her feel like she’s smack in the middle of Republic during one of Emmy’s meltdowns. (IYKYK.)
At-Home Gel Manicure Kit, Nailboo ($136)
One of the best small investments I ever made was the purchase of a at-home gel kit. Applying gel is so similar to painting your nails with traditional lacquer polish that there was little to no learning curve, and I’ve saved hundreds over the years. I made my own kit from random products on Amazon — this oft-reposted article is at least five years old — but if I had to do it all over again, I’d just buy one of the kits from Nailboo. It’s an all-in-one deal, just remember to add the curing lamp.
Lotus Loose Tea Tasting Set, Tea Forté ($28)
Tea Forté sent me one of their loose-leaf tea cups years ago and it’s still my favorite tea mug. It comes with a metal strainer that fits directly into the cup, and although I love the novelty of those little rubber manatee strainers, this method is just plain effective.
Pavé Diamond Huggie Hoops, Mejuri ($298)
These Mejuri hoops have become part of my everyday wear. They’re unobtrusive enough to sleep in, trendy enough that I can wear them out with my “cool” mom friends, and they have yet to show any signs of tarnish. Bonus: They come in gold, too.
Wild Flower Assorted Pack, Spongellé ($128)
My mother-in-law got me one of Spongellé’s sudsy sponges for Christmas a few years ago and I was instantly converted. There are so many scents — even for men and kids! — and the sponge is the perfect texture for lightly buffing skin. Get a variety pack and dole them out as gifts for the many moms you know.
Mongolian Cashmere Fisherman Crewneck Sweater, Quince ($100)
I have a closet full of chunky sweaters so believe me when I say Quince has one of the most flattering designs. It’s soft as hell, comes in nine colors, and so affordable.
Belgian Linen Sheet Set, Buffy ($279)
My only beef with Buffy’s linen sheets is that we use them so much that we’ve worn a hole in them. They are otherwise the perfect summer sheets for sweaty sleepers. (Don’t tell your mom you think she might be a sweaty sleeper.)
Large Blanket, Lola ($299)
As soon as we got a Lola blanket, I was ready to throw away all our other blankets. The only reason I didn’t was because that would be wasteful (and my husband wouldn’t let me).
Portobello Duffel, Caraa ($260)
I could not ask for a better travel companion than Caraa’s new Portobello duffel. It’s fluffy, so it’s comfortable to tote around the airport and my laptop is safe in there, plus there’s plenty of room for snacks, a Kindle, and various beverages.
Electric Kettle, Smeg ($240)
For tea drinkers, there is only life before an electric kettle and after an electric kettle — no in-between. It’s so easy to fill and flip the switch that it makes me wonder why I still have an old-school kettle on my stovetop. (Seriously. It’s been years. Why is it still there?)
Garden Cabbage Bowl, Beatriz Ball ($266)
Fun fact: This bowl is the first gift my husband and I received when we got engaged, and it’s still the one that gets the most use. Every time we have people over, this aluminum salad bowl inevitably gets trotted out. I’m actually shocked it’s still available online, lucky you.
Rosebay Smocked Dress, Minnow ($158)
I had that very specific girlhood experience of being forced to wear matching Laura Ashley dresses with my mother. I told myself I wouldn’t do it with my daughter, but I’ll be damned if I’m not making her match with me for every possible second of her young life. She loves it! I love it! Minnow has dresses, sweaters, and bathing suits in matching mommy-and-me patterns. I’m partial to this pretty print, which has a corresponding girls’ dress. (And if you want more options, I wrote about the best mommy-and-me brands a couple years back.)
